: A EUROPEAN UNIVERSITY FOR ALL ULiège is part of the UNIC alliance. This European University gathers universities located in post- industrial cities. The consortium provides a rich diversity of events and new offerings for students, researchers, and citizens across Europe: enhanced mobility through hybrid campuses and course offerings, PhD and other research programmes, micro-credentials, seminars and roundtables, and a focus on opportunities for knowledge exchange between universities and the cities they’re embedded in. In a very concrete way, UNIC offers students the opportunity to participate in virtual Open Courses. Each course is ECTS accredited, and together they cover vast ground from health and wellbeing to diversity and inclusion. UNIC also offers online language and information modules that provide an introduction to each university, city, and official university language across the whole alliance. That includes Basque, Croatian, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Irish, Spanish, Polish and Turkish! In September 2023, the alliance also launched an Erasmus Mundus master’s degree organised by 8 universities, called RePIC for «Redesigning the Post-Industrial City», offering the possibility to spend 4 semesters in 4 different cities. Learn more about the opportunities within UNIC for students, researchers, professors, staff, and citizens. www.unic.eu UNIGR: A CROSS-BORDER COLLABORATION ULiège is also a member of the University of the Greater Region (UniGR), a network of seven universities (the University of Kaiserslautern, the University of Liège, the University of Lorraine, the University of Luxembourg, Saarland University, Trier University and htw saar as associated partner) which are located on the cross-border area of the Greater Region. UniGR is committed to developing “border-free” training and research by improving and facilitating mobility for students, PhD students, lecturers and researchers from its partner universities; by supporting cross-border cooperation through the development of networks and expertise; and by promoting the visibility of cross- border initiatives in universities. The aim is to foster a “cross-border culture” within the partner universities through the efforts of the various networks associated with the confederation.
