Non EU Conditions "Medicine"


Undergraduate - Bachelor

The following conditions do not apply to admission to medicine, dentistry and physiotherapy and rehabilitation, governed by physiotherapy and rehabilitation, governed by the decree of 16 June 2006. Students are subject to an examination (medicine and dental sciences) or are selected by random draw (physiotherapy and rehabilitation).

Student with no academic background (or with less than 2 completed academic years)

On the date of submission of the application, the student must hold a recent secondary education diploma, obtained in 2022, 2023 or 2024 and its equivalence to the CESS ; with a general average of 13/20 and with 12/20 in mathematics, physics, chemistry and natural sciences.

Student with academic background (minimum 2 academic years completed)

  1. Students must have acquired at least 75% of the credits in their annual study program for each of the higher education years preceding their application, except possibly for one year.
    If the studies were carried out in an educational system which does not apply progression by accumulation of credits, the student must have successfully completed each year of study, except, possibly, one year.
    The skills acquired must be certified by an overall average of at least 12/20.
  2. The student cannot have already obtained another bachelor's degree in the French Community of Belgium

Master

The following conditions do not apply to admission to medicine, dental sciences and physiotherapy and rehabilitation.

  1. Students must hold an undergraduate degree obtained in a higher education institution recognized by the competent authorities in the country of origin (after 3 years and with at least 180 credits) or be in the last year of studies leading to this diploma. In the latter case, the final admission of the candidate will be subject to obtaining this diploma.
  2. Students must have acquired at least 75% of the credits in their annual study program for each of the higher education years preceding their application, except possibly for one year.
    If the studies were carried out in an educational system which does not apply progression by accumulation of credits, the student must have successfully completed each year of study, except, possibly, one year.
  3. The skills acquired must be certified by an overall average of at least 12/20.
  4. Previous studies must be related to the requested field (for “orphaned” masters, similar studies to studies organized in the French Community of Belgium and giving access to said masters).
  5. The student cannot hold another master's degree or a specialization master's degree or a doctoral degree in the French Community of Belgium.
  6. Additional requirements for all Master's applications: the cover letter must describe your interest in the course and your career plans.
  7. Additional conditions for the master's in public health sciences: having obtained an average of 65% over all the years of higher education and proof of a convincing professional experience of at least three years after obtaining the diploma. Candidates with a medicine degree must provide evidence of at least 3 years' professional experience following graduation.
  8. Additional conditions for the master's in nursing sciences: having obtained an average of 65% over all the years of higher education in the field of nursing sciences (as well as the equivalence of the academic degree) and proof of a convincing professional experience of at least three years after obtaining the diploma.
  9. Additional requirements for the Master's degree in Biomedical Sciences: an average of 75% over all years of higher education if these are in a field other than biomedical sciences.

Specialised Master

For the specialized masters covered by the accreditation, in accordance with federal legislation, you must refer to the conditions and procedures set by the inter-university jury.

  1. Students must hold a 2nd cycle diploma obtained in a higher education establishment recognized by the competent authorities in the country of origin (after 5 years of study and with at least 300 credits) or be in the last year of studies leading to this diploma. In the latter case, the final admission of the candidate will be subject to obtaining this diploma.
  2. Students must have acquired at least 75% of the credits in their annual study program for each of the higher education years preceding their application for registration, except possibly for one year.
    If the studies were carried out in an educational system which does not apply progression by accumulation of credits, the student must have successfully completed each year of study, except, possibly, one year.
  3. The skills acquired must be certified by an overall average of at least 12/20.
  4. The student may not have already obtained another specialization master's degree or a doctoral degree in the French Community of Belgium.
