Master of Science in Education
Formation en horaire adapté
The Master's degree in Educational Sciences enables students to develop high-level expertise in all areas of educational relations: school, family, early childhood and adults.
The Master's program comprises 120 credits.
It is open, among others, to holders of a short bachelor's degree, a list of which can be found at this page. It is often subject to a complementaryprogram, known as a "passerelle" (block 0 or additional credits), which varies from 44 to 60 credits, depending on the student's previous experience.
Students who have previously obtained a diploma from a teacher training college are exempted from taking 3 courses for a total of 16 credits in Block 0. These courses are as follows:
- AESS0246-1 : Analyse de l'Institution Scolaire et de ses Acteurs, politiques éducatives.
- YTRA9007-1 : Projet/stages de découvertes
- PEDA4055-1 : Séminaire d'accompagnement de stages
For other students who hold an educational diploma and/or have significant professional experience in the world of education, it is possible to submit a request for exemption from these 3 courses by email to Mme Poumay, Jury President. This request must be supported by proof of employment and/or diplomas obtained, justifying the exemption requested.
A minimum of 3 years' study is required for a Haute Ecole graduate. Depending on the student's availability and professional situation, it is recommended that the course program be lightened, so that the curriculum can be spread over four years or more.
Complementary credit courses (B0) are given mainly from 5pm to 8pm on weekdays, Wednesday afternoons and Saturday mornings. Some of these courses are given during the day. These courses are podcasted to enable students who are unable to attend physically to follow them at a time that suits them best.
Core courses (compulsory courses for all students) and courses in the Teaching specialization are given exclusively on a staggered/arranged timetable.
Courses in the Adult Education specialization are systematically given during the day, and not on a staggered timetable. However, some courses are podcasted.
Some optional courses may also be given during the day, and may or may not be podcasted. Students should therefore be careful about the courses they select, and consult the courses' pedagogical commitments for organizational details.
Adult Education courses are systematically given during the day, and not at staggered times. However, some courses are podcasted.
Classes resume this Wednesday, September 14, according to thetimetable available online at, so don't hesitate to take part, even if your registration formalities are not yet complete. It would be a shame to miss out on the first lessons and the English placement test.
This program will be the subject of a webinar during our Master Info evening on March 28. Details and registration at .
