Students who have already applied for a scholarship at the « Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles » MUST NOT apply for a reduction in tuition fees

The application for a scholarship must be renewed at each new academic year.

The University of Liege offers the possibility to benefit from a reduction of the registration fees for the current academic year. Please read the following carefully and make sure you follow the procedure for submitting your request

Areduction can be granted on the basis of modest socio-economic conditions (except in cases of increased fees) including all household income and dependents (tax year 2020, income 2019: table of ceilings 2020-2021)

Two rates can be applied:

  1. the intermediate rate reducing the tuition fees for the academic year 2021-2022 to 374€ (condition: income taxed in Belgium) ;
  2. the preferential rate reducing the registration fees for the academic year 2021-2022 to 485€ (condition: income taxed in the European Union or outside the European Union).

The rate applied depends on your situation.

Apply for a reduction in tuition fees

As soon as we are aware of the new 2021-2022 regulations, your request for a reduction will be analyzed and you will receive notification of the decision via your MyULiège mailbox.

The basic documents to be provided are:

  1. A warning extracted from the 2020 tax roll of the 2019 income (see model for information) issued by the Federal Public Service of Finance (FPS Finance)
  2. A household composition to be obtained from the Municipal Administration of your residence
  3. The application form for a reduction corresponding to your situation to be completed online

The reduction is valid for one year only and must be renewed for each new academic year.

Scholarship status

The scholarship rate (0€) is applied to students who have obtained, for the same academic year, a scholarship from the Direction des Allocations et Prêts d'Études (DAPE) of the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles (FWB).

If you have applied for a scholarship (= study allowance) from the Study Allowance Service of the Walloon-Brussels Federation (DAPE), the University will automatically be informed of the answer (agreement or refusal).
