Financial aid for course materials

Assistance for all students in modest circumstances who have a FWB scholarship or reduced tuition fees.

Under current legislation, all 1st and 2nd cycle students who have received a study grant from the Fédération Wallonie Bruxelles are entitled to assistance with course materials, without prejudice to compliance with copyright provisions (the decree therefore does not apply to published books).

In application of this decree, the Université de Liège has decided to grant a lump sum to students who have received a grant, as well as to students who have benefited from a reduction in tuition fees applied by the student social service.

How do I get this assistance?

To qualify for this aid, your scholarship status must have been confirmed by the Direction des Allocations d'Études (DAE), or a reduction must have been granted by the student social service.

A personal confirmation email giving you access to the form will be sent to you automatically.  Be sure to check your Student email account!

Note:

If the cost of "compulsory" course materials exceeds this amount, a request for an appointment can be made to the Student Welfare Department. Following a meeting with one of our social workers, a file can be submitted on the basis of supporting invoices.

Whenever possible, check to see if the book you're looking for is available in the Libraries, or consider buying your textbooks second-hand. Check out the classified ads on the Portail MyULiège, at your faculty's valves. Brocantes and book fairs are treasure troves! And don't forget to compare prices with suppliers.
