Loans and advances
1. Fee loans
The University of Liège can grant an interest-free loan - repayable in several monthly instalments within the current academic year - to enable students to pay their regular tuition fees.
To ensure that your situation can be analyzed, please submit your request in due form to the Service Social des Étudiants (SSE).
By law, enrolment fees must be paid by February 1 of the current academic year. In this case, the deadline for applying for a loan isJanuary 15, 2025.
After this date, loans are still possible for students who have received been refused a scholarship,from the Wallonia-Brussels Federation. Payment may be spread over the remaining months of the current academic year.

- Request a duplicate of the loan deed you have signed
- Obtain information on the repayment of a positive balance (overpayment, change of enrolment rate following the granting of a discount, etc.)

2. Advance on FWB grant
If you have to incur costs to finance your studies but have not yet received your study grant from the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles, an advance on your grant may be considered. Contact Service Social des Étudiants to arrange a meeting with a social worker who will analyze your situation.
You may also wish to contact your own Commune, Province, country of origin or even your parents' employer for information on possible financial assistance.
