The student card will accompany you throughout their studies at ULiège! If your card was issued in 2018-2019 or later, you will not receive a new one when re-enrolling. Indeed, this new model of card (access badge) is only issued once for the entire duration of the studies.

Activation of the card

It is necessary to activate your student card!

To do so, log on to my.uliege.be/carte using your "s" identifier and password, then take your 4-digit activation code.

This code is sent to you by post at the same time as your card. It can be found either on the document attached to your card, or directly on the back of your card (from 2019-2020). It does not expire. If you have any problems with this code, please contact Service des Inscriptions et des Admissions.

Useful functions in the daily life of the card

ULiège Identity

Proof of registration at the University of Liège, the student card can be requested during the course: practical work, labs, exams...

Access Pass

The card will be essential to access certain places: the University is gradually setting up secure portals for access to buildings (new student centre in the basement of the Opera complex), libraries (notably Alpha and Graulich)...

As an intelligent card, it will be able to evolve according to needs: access can be given to specific labs or buildings.

Loan of books and documents

You will need a card to borrow a book or document from the ULiège libraries. You will be asked to present it at the reception desk of the library where the document is located (the library that owns it or the library where you have requested delivery of the document) or to use it via the automatic lending machine if the document is in Historical Sciences or in Philosophy, Information and Communication.

Privilege Card

Student life does not stop at the walls of ULiège. Being a student gives you access to certain advantages. In cultural venues and shops offering preferential rates, the card can be presented. If necessary, the QR code can be scanned using a smartphone to show the registration details (academic year and course followed). If the student does not have access to a smartphone, he can bring a registration certificate.

Special precautions

It is recommended to keep the card carefully to avoid losing or damaging it.

Indeed, the student card is also an access badge equipped with an electronic chip and an antenna. These two elements are essential for the proper reading of information on board via badge readers.

It is forbidden:

  • to fold, cut, puncture the badge;
  • place it in or near heat sources and/or electromagnetic waves (microwave, MRI, oven, etc.);
  • lend it to others (the badge is individual);

It is recommended:

  • Do not badge through your wallet or place it in the shell of a smartphone (communication disturbances between the badge and the reader)

What to do in case of loss/theft?

Deactivate your card

Have you lost your student card? You can click on the "Déclarer la carte perdue" (="Report lost card") button in your portal. This deactivates your card and prevents it from being used by another person:

Carte étudiant - virtuelle - perdue

Activate your virtual card

You can get a virtual map by clicking on "Visualiser la carte virtuelle" (="View virtual map"). Then simply take a screenshot to keep it on your smartphone:

  Carte d'étudiant virtuelle

In fact, if you don't have your "physical" card, the virtual card is the best way to identify yourself when you take your exams.

If you find your card, simply click on "Déclarer la carte retrouvée" (="Report found card").

If your card is definitely lost...

Apply to the Registration and Admission Office to renew your card:

You will be ask to pay €10 (by electronic payment, bancontact or bank transfer) to cover administrative costs.

In case of theft, please report it to the police and in case of damage or malfunctioning, please bring your badge to the Registration and Admission Office to discuss a solution.
