Consumer aid: food, hygiene, energy
The University of Liège ensures that students can maintain a healthy lifestyle, even in the event of financial difficulties. It therefore implements and promotes food assistance programs, both on and off campus. In addition to the available dining options, specific assistance is available for students who have difficulty obtaining basic food or hygiene products.
Food aid
The University offers food assistance to support students in need, facilitating access to meals in its restaurants and cafeterias.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE? Students receiving scholarships from the Wallonia-Brussels Federation or those receiving reduced tuition fees from the Student Social Service who believe they are in need.
IN PRACTICE: Students can access a monthly credit that can be used directly via a smartphone app. To benefit from this, you must complete the online form (available again during the next academic year 2025-2026).
For the 2024-2025 academic year, the aid granted can be used until August 31, 2025, the expiration date. Don't hesitate to use it quickly if you need it.
Student grocery store
WHO IS IT FOR? For students who are going through a difficult financial period and are therefore finding it difficult to eat a balanced and healthy diet.
WHAT? The student grocery store of the Pôle Académique Liège-Luxembourg "Le Kotidien" offers you a solution based on solidarity. "Le Kotidien" will enable you to obtain everyday consumer products (food and sanitary products) free of charge or at a lower price than the market price.
IN PRACTICE :
- Present your student card
- Sign an affidavit upon enrolment attesting to a difficult and delicate financial situation
Food parcels
The City of Liège also organizes food aid distributed by district. To find out where the nearest distribution center is, simply enter your home address in the search engine on the Ville de Liège website.
Hygienic pads
The Centre J, youth unit of the City of Liège, distributes sanitary protection to students up to the age of 26
Energy
The Relais Énergie of the Liège CPAS is aimed at anyone whose home is in the area, offering preventive advice and various forms of assistance to combat energy poverty.
A individualized support and various forms of material aid are available to help you meet the costs of your studies, throughout your course.
