The study allowance from the Wallonia-Brussels Federation is financial support that enables regular students to cover part of their study costs for an academic year.
Applications for study grants from the Wallonia-Brussels Federation can be submitted
from July 8 to October 31, 2025.

The awarding of a scholarship by the Direction des Allocations et Prêts d'Études (DAE) of the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles (FWB) confers on you the status of scholarship holder and gives you access to 2 other advantages: exemption from tuition fees and assistance with course materials.

If you have paid all or part of your registration fees before your scholarship status has been confirmed, you can request a refund from the Enrolment Department (Refusal of scholarship application
Has your application for a DAE scholarship been rejected? The University is automatically notified of the refusal of your scholarship application and the full rate (€835) is automatically applied to your enrolment.
If you lodge an appeal against the DAE's decision, please note that you are still liable to pay your registration fees to the University. The payment deadline must be respected.
Please also note that there will be a delay of a few days between receiving the notification letter and the update of your study allowance decision in your ULiège registration file. Once you receive the email from the Student Social Services informing you of the change in rate, you can begin the necessary procedures.
