Teaching in secondary schools
The diploma ofagrégé de l'enseignement secondaire supérieur (AESS) is the qualification required for permanent appointment to higher secondary education.
Master's degree courses in didactics integrate the agrégation courses and lead to this qualification.
It is also possible to register directly for the AESS (for holders of a licence or a one-year Master's degree, for example).
The CEFEN (CEntre de Formation des Enseign-es) coordinates the organization of this training program.
Teaching in higher education
The CAPAES (Certificat d'Aptitude Pédagogique à l'Enseignement Supérieur) is the pedagogical qualification required to be appointed or permanently employed in a higher education institution. This training combines theory, practice and the preparation of a professional dossier, and is organized by ULg's IFRES.
Training in Education Sciences or Higher Education Pedagogy
