You are already registered in 2023-2024 and wish to change your registration?
The procedures below may concern you.
For ULiège students, it is possible to re-register as soon as the results of the deliberation are published and until 30 September.
Until 30 September, any student may, in compliance with the legal conditions of access and financeability, modify his or her registration and change course1.
By way of derogation, this possibility is extended to 31 October for first-year undergraduate students. It is then subject to a specific procedure.
The steps to be taken by the student concerned by one of the first two cases are described below.
Changes in registration do not incur any additional costs.
For students who are not enrolled in the first year of the first cycle and who wish to change their course of study after 30 September, there is only one way to proceed:
- Cancel your registration via the Contact Platform until 30 November at the latest
- Request a derogation for a late registration which will be subject to a decision by the academic authorities.
Until 30 September
Until 30 September, any student can modify his or her registration by completing the online form provided for this purpose on the Contact Platform (section "Change your registration - All education levels").
Between 1 and 31 October: only for 1st year undergraduate students (block 1)
In order to be able to change their registration between 1 and 31 October, first-year undergraduate students must have paid the 50 euro deposit for their current registration2 or have submitted a scholarship application3.
ULiège students wishing to change their registration at ULiège must :
- Complete the registration modification form block 1
- Submit the request for modification via the Contact Platform and submit the above form duly completed.
After checking that the student meets the conditions set, the Registration and Admission Office will record the new registration.
As soon as the new registration is recorded on the student's portal, the student must contact the Faculty in order to establish their new programme (PAE).
ULiège students wishing to change their registration to another institution must:
- Request the proof of payment of the deposit via the Contact Platform (section "document request")
- Complete the registration modification form block 1
- Send the form and the certificate to their host institution
After checking that the conditions are met and once the change in registration has been confirmed, the host institution will inform ULiège.
Students coming from another institution wishing to change their registration to ULiège must:
- Ask their home institution for a certificate of regular registration (specifying whether the deposit has been paid or whether a grant has been applied for) and a proof of payment of the deposit
- Complete the registration modification form block 1
- Create an account to access the online registration form (and keep your file number!)
- Submit your request for modification via the Contact Platform (section "modification of registration block 1") and attach the form, the above-mentioned certificate and all the documents required for your registration (identity card, proof of access and official documents of your previous activities (if relevant).
On receipt of the duly completed application, the Registration and Admission Office will release access to the online form so that the student can finalise the new online application. If the application complies with the conditions set, the Registration and Admission Office will acknowledge the new registration, inform the student and the home institution.
Notes :
- This procedure will not be recorded by telephone or by a third party.
- The ULiège student who is considering changing their registration or reorienting their studies but who still has doubts can turn to the University Orientation Service, which organises a specific permanence.
After 31 October and up to 15 February, first-year undergraduate students have the possibility of reorienting themselves.
This request for reorientation must be justified by the student and be approved by the jury of the study programme to which he/she wishes to reorientate.
In case of refusal, the student has the possibility of lodging an internal appeal
In accordance with article 102 § 3 of the decree of 7 November 2013 defining the landscape of higher education and the academic organisation of studies, students(1) enrolled in the first year of the first cycle who have not yet acquired or validated at least 45 of the first 60 credits of the course in which they are enrolled may modify their enrolment until 15 February, without additional registration fees in order to pursue their academic year within another programme(2).This reorientation must be motivated by the student and is subject to approval by the jury of the study cycle to which they wish to change.
The file must be complet and the form properly completed.
Procedure for ULiège students who wish to reorient themselves to another bachelor program at ULiège
- Complete part A of the reorientation request form. (coming soon)
- Submit your request via the reorientation form on the contact platform and attach the duly completed reorientation form (part A).
- An acknowledgment of receipt will be sent automatically to the e-mail address provided in this form.
- The student will be notified of the follow-up as soon as possible by e-mail.
Procedure for students from another institution who wish to reorient themselves towards a bachelor's degree course at ULiège
- Complete part A of the reorientation request form (coming soon)
- Submit your request via the contact platform reorientation form.
- Attach the documents listed below.
Important information

Documents to provide :
→ the complete reorientation request form (3 pages) duly completed (part A) (coming soon)
→ a double-sided copy of your identity card + your birth certificate if the place of birth does not appear on it
→ a certificate of enrollment in your home establishment
→ a copy of your secondary school diploma (CESS or foreign diploma + equivalence)
→ if this diploma dates from before 2022, proof of your activities since obtaining your secondary school diploma
→ (in the event of reorientation after the January session), the transcript of this session presented at the home institution
→ (in the event of a reorientation between February 2 and 15), a document from the original institution certifying the absence of debt
→ proof of the request for a study allowance from the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, if applicable
Additionnal documents to provide :
→ if enrolled for the bachelor's degree in engineering sciences, civil engineering or civil engineering-architecture: proof of passing the special examination for admission to undergraduate studies in engineering sciences (entrance examination)
→ if enrolled for the bachelor's degree in veterinary medicine or in physiotherapy and rehabilitation or in educational psychology, speech therapy orientation: a certificate of residence dated no earlier than 1 May 2021
→ if enrolling for the bachelor's degree in medicine or dentistry: proof of successful completion of the entrance examination in medicine and dentistry
4. Notify the establishment of origin of your request for reorientation to ULiège.
5. After checking the conformity of your file, the Registration and Admission Office will submit your file to the jury and will communicate the decision to you by e-mail.
In case of refusal, you can lodge an appeal with the Vice-Rector for Teaching and Student Life. The appeal must be lodged within 8 working days from the 1st working day following the notification of refusal.
Procedure for ULiège students who wish to reorient themselves to another institution
- Comply with the procedure described on the website of the said establishment.
- Notify ULiège of your reorientation request by sending an email to si-secretariat@uliege.be.
For requests submitted before/during the January session, we remind you that participation in the exams organised for the end of the first term is mandatory for students in the first year of their first cycle studies (art. 150§1 of the decree of 7 November 2013 defining the landscape of higher education and the academic organisation of studies). No reorientation will be acted between 15 December and the end of the January session.

(1) As long as they meet the legal access conditions.
(2) Reorientation is not authorised for non-resident students within a quota programme.The student is allowed to cancel his/her registration until 30 November1 of the academic year concerned.
In this case, only the deposit of 50 euros remains due, the balance of the fees paid by the student will be reimbursed at the student's express request via the contact platform
After the date of 30 November, the student cannot cancel his/her registration.
If a student withdraws after this date, no refund will be made, the balance of the registration fees will remain due and the study year will still be counted in the student's academic career2, and therefore, in the calculation of their financeability too.
