As there is a break since your last registration, you must create a pre-registration account "as if you had never been registered at ULiège". When your personal data is encoded, the system will propose you to recover your registration file.

Please check the format of your photo. It must be in JPEG, JPG, PNG or BMP format. If you are unable to do this, please contact the call centre on 04 366 46 00.

No, you must use a computer. If you do not have one, you can make an appointment by contacting 04 366 46 00.

It is best to use Firefox.

If you experience constant slowdowns, please log out of the myULiège portal, close your browser and restart Firefox.

This is normal. Your password is the one you entered when you created your pre-registration account. You will not receive a new one, but if you wish, you can change it later on your myULiège portal.

The online application period runs from 17 February 2025 to 31 March 2025. We invite you to submit an application as early as February for the registration campaign.

Students from the European Union who wish to enrol in 1^st year Bachelor are not concerned for pre-registration.

To be assimilated means to be in conditions that allow you to benefit from the same conditions as EU students.

This list of documents is essential to finalise your registration.
Unfortunately, if you do not have any of the required documents, your registration cannot be validated.

More details on some of the documents required:

• Certificate of nationality or passport: a copy of your valid passport and a copy of your valid student visa for Belgium.
• Your original diploma: a copy of your final diploma. If not, an official attestation of non-issuance OR, if the diploma is recent, a certificate of graduation (Note: the certificate of graduation of the last year is not sufficient if it does not include the mention of graduation)
• Transcripts for an academic year: a copy of the complete and official transcript for the year in question
• Proof of non-study period: proof of your activities: work, internship, language stay, unemployment, etc. with a start and end date. For a period of employment, only an attestation from the employer is accepted (no employment contract) or fill our form: "Attestation à faire compléter par l'employeur". The document must cover all months of the period or year concerned. If you do not have an official document, then you must complete the declaration on your honour, specifying what you did and why you cannot produce a document. Make sure you fill, date and sign this declaration on your honour.
• Official proof of your knowledge of English: only certain tests are accepted.

• An updated financial plan: a copy of the financial plan provided to the Aliens Office for your visa.
• For students coming under a special agreement, if the amount is lower than the 50€ deposit usually requested, please take into account only the amount indicated on your admission letter.
  For doctoral students with an ARES scholarship or a ULiège staff member, you do not have to pay the 50€ deposit. Please provide with your reservations your official scholarship attestation from ARES or your scholarship organisation or the attestation of service as a member of the ULiège staff.

Documents must be submitted in PDF format. If the volume is too large, we thank you for using a PDF compression software (available free on the internet)

All scanned documents must be legible and include the entire document.

Please make sure to attach all the requested documents before sending the PDF.

Please note that if a document is missing, illegible or not adequate, your registration cannot be validated.

By October 31st* at the latest, a minimum of 50,00€ is required to validate your registration.
This amount represents a deposit that will be deducted from the rest of the registration fees.
You also have the possibility to pay the totality of your fees if you wish.

If your registration fee is less than 50,00€, the total amount must be paid by October 31st at the latest*.

This does not apply to students from outside the European Union who have submitted an application and paid 200,00€ administrative fee.

This photo will be printed on your student card. It is therefore important that it is of good quality in terms of format but also in terms of the profile adopted: avoid photos with other people or selfies and try to adopt a neutral background.

The deadline for registration is 30 September.

What happens now?

The documents sent must be analysed by a agent who will then finalise your registration.
You will receive an email once the registration has been confirmed.

What happens next?

Once you have registered, you will be able to access your myULiège account where you will find the registration certificates you need to settle in Belgium, in particular a specific registration certificate for the municipality that is responsible for issuing the residence permit.
Your registration will also enable you to contact the Faculty concerned to establish your course programme.

Our University offers only a very limited number of scholarships and these are not intended for first-time applicants.
We suggest that you check with the authorities in your country to see if there are any possibilities to finance your study project.
You can also contact the Belgian Consulate or Embassy to find out about the conditions for scholarships granted by our country. We would nevertheless like to draw your attention to the fact that these scholarships are rare, that they are not granted in all countries and that they are generally aimed at enrolment beyond the first cycle of higher education.
When looking for funding, you should consider the estimated annual budget for a student.
A year of study costs about EUR 10 000. To this amount, you should add the tuition fees.
We would like to inform you that the University of Liège only examines applications for admission from nationals of countries outside the European Union if they are accompanied by a financial plan and proof of sufficient resources to carry out your studies.
In addition, the Embassy or Consulate will require a certificate of support from a guarantor residing in Belgium or from a scholarship organisation in order to issue a residence visa for studies.

Before going to the Belgian Embassy or Consulate to submit your visa application, you should obtain a precise and updated list of the required documents from the Embassy or Consulate: an incomplete file could lead to a visa refusal or force you to take more steps and travel, which can be long, costly and tedious.

The level of admission depends on several parameters.

Namely:

• the type of degree you have,
• the course of study you wish to enter,
• the number of years of study you have completed,
• the amount of time spent,
• the content of your training and the weighting of results

If you have a secondary school diploma, you can apply for admission to the first year of a bachelor's degree.
If you have already started university studies, you can apply for partial recognition for admission in the course of your studies (bachelor's or master's degree, depending on the number of years completed).
If you already have a second cycle university degree obtained after 5 years of study, you can apply for a master's degree in specialisation or doctorate.

If you are a national of the European Union, if you meet the conditions of access and if you are in possession of a legal title of access to 1st cycle university studies, you can register directly in 1st year, without submitting an application for admission.

This measure is aimed at students wishing to enrol in the fields of medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, psychological and educational sciences, with a focus on speech therapy and physiotherapy.

To qualify as a resident student, you will have to prove your residence in Belgium according to one of the criteria listed on the resident status page and provide the relevant documents.

For medical science and dental science programs, resident status must be justified to ARES at the time of registration for the entrance exam

They will only be accessible after the ARES has sent the certificates of successful completion of the entrance examination: usually early September.

Under the regulations, you have the following options:

• The Belgian Certificate of Higher Secondary Education (C.E.S.S.)
• The Belgian Certificate of Higher Secondary Education (C.E.S.S.) + the certificate of achievement of the DAES if your diploma was obtained no later than the 1992-1993 academic year.
• a diploma issued by an institution of higher learning from the French Community
• a title of higher education issued by a social advancement educational institution
• a European Baccalaureate issued by the High Council of European Schools
• an International Baccalaureate of Geneva, issued by the International Baccalaureate Office of Geneva
• a foreign secondary diploma recognised as equivalent to the Certificate of Higher Secondary Education (C.E.S.S.) of the French Community of Belgium, and if applicable, the certificate of achievement of the additional examinations imposed upon you
• the certificate of achievement of an admissions exam for 1^st cycle university studies
• the certificate of achievement of the 1^st cycle admissions exam in applied sciences, mandatory for enrolment in a 1^st Bachelors in Civil Engineering
• In addition to the legal access, certain students are subject to additional conditions

To register for first cycle university studies, it is necessary to be in possession of a legal access title.

Failing possession of one of the above mentioned diplomas, or of a complete equivalence decision for the Belgian C.E.S.S. issued by the Ministry of the French Community, you have the possibility to take the admissions exam for 1^st cycle university studies or the maturity exam (D.A.E.S.) organised by the Wallonia-Brussels Federation.

Note:

If you are from a country outside the European Union, you  will only have access to the exam if you are officially "admissible" to the University of Liège (authorisation letter from the Registration Department) or in another higher learning institution in the Wallonia-Brussels Federation.

The secondary school diploma obtained in the Flemish Community leads to the same rights as the secondary school diploma obtained in the French Community.

You have a diploma earned from a University College, you can consult the site of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, which will indicate all the possibilities available to you.

You will then consult our special access conditions for Masters in order to check if the Masters that interests you is organised at ULiège.

If your diploma is issued by a social training institution that is accredited under the Decree, it will give you the same rights in terms of bridging.

Otherwise, your application for admission must be accompanied by an admission file.

This obligation is no longer applicable since the 2019-2020 academic year for the 1st cycle, but is still mandatory for students enrolled in the 2nd cycle wishing to be admitted to the didactic finality.

The equivalence is a legal access document. Without this document, it is impossible to register. We therefore advise you to wait until you have obtained this document before finalising your online application.

There are several types of appeal and different procedures.

If you are not able to take full-time courses, two possibilities are available to you:

1. Request the reduction of course credits of your study programme:
   You will then agree to a cours credit reduction agreement with your Jury.
   The number of credits in your annual study programme determines your registration fees.
2. Complete your studies by way of the Jury of the French Community: In this instance, you only register for the exam when you are ready to take the tests that are part of the programme of this exam. You do not have the grade of regular student, and you only register for one exam session at a time (January + June or September). To enrol in the Jury of the French Community, you must prove that you are not able to follow courses (a certificate from your employer or an authorisation from FOREM to demonstrate this). If you nevertheless wish to attend lessons, you will need to register as an auditor as well.

You should also be aware that certain study programmes are organised on an off-schedule basis: Public Health
Sciences, Management Sciences and Labour Studies.

Your professional experience in the field of this Master's degree can, if significant, be used to exempt you from additional credits by requesting personalised access on the basis of an individual file.
